WHY I SHOULD TAKE ACTION?
If you dont take action then neither will the Government.
If you write to a politician preferably your local MP with a copy of the same letter also sent to a senior Minister, then they are obliged to send you a confirmation and a reply.
You should state that by their inaction Cyprus has remained illegally occupied by the Murderous Turkish Army for over 25 years. They have No respect for Human Rights and have murdered unarmed civilians. The only way to solve the Cyprus Problem is to take action against the aggressor, Turkey.
Turkey is a threat to the Civilised World and the main sponsor of International Terrorism. If no action is taken Turkey will continue to attack its neighbours and its own people. These facts have been ignored for to long, as with Adolf Hitler the West has created a Monster.
Military and economic sanctions should be imposed on Turkey on the scale of those imposed on Saddam Hussein. These sanctions should be enforced by a blockade and not lifted until Turkey withdraws its troops from Cyprus, stops attacking and threatening its neighbours and stops violating the human rights of its own people.
At present the US gives Turkey $500,000 dollars of military aid each year. This is used to illegally keep over 30,000 Turkish troops in Cyprus and to purchase weapons which Turkey uses against its own people and to threaten its neighbours. It must stop.
Turkey must be thrown out of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), this is no place for Barbarians.
All UN resolutions referring to Turkey must be immediately implemented and action must be taken by the members of the UN to make Turkey implement them.
The inadequate UN force in Cyprus, which stood by as two Greek Cypriots were Murdered by Turkish Troops and Terrorists only inches away from 'Peace-keepers', must be replaced by a European or NATO force ready to take action to remove Turkeys troops from the island. Obviously Turkey must not be allowed to have any influence on this force.
As a bare minimum, there should be an international boycott of the Turkish tourist industry to show Turkey it will not be tolerated.
All trade with Turkey must be immediately suspended and the
European Union (EU) customs union with Turkey must be frozen.
